51 Preface أَوَلَم يَكفِهِم أَنّا أَنزَلنا عَلَيكَ الكِتابَ يُتلىٰ عَلَيهِم ۚ إِنَّ في ذٰلِكَ لَرَحمَةً وَذِكرىٰ لِقَومٍ يُؤمِنونَYusuf AliAnd is it not enough for them that we have sent down to thee the Book which is rehearsed to them? Verily, in it is Mercy and a Reminder to those who believe.1The perspicuous Qur-ān, as explained in detail by God’s Messenger, in conjunction with God’s Signs in nature and in the hearts of men, should be enough for all. It is mere fractious opposition to demand vaguely something more. (Cf. also 6:124, and n. 946).
